FAQ LT71

Q: Does the projector support all PC and Mac platforms?

A: The projector’s software drivers support Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows Vista and Windows 7. However, there is currently no support for Mac systems.

Q: How long does the battery last?

A:  The projector does not use a battery. It is powered by its USB connection.

Q:  Can the projector operate with only one USB connector plugged into the PC ?

A:  The projector works, in most cases, with only one of the USB connectors plugged in to an active USB port. However, dual USB connection is recommended to achieve optimal effect. With some PCs especially Notebooks, it may happen that using just one USB port  may not work, as the computer / battery specifications may not be properly configured, or the PC, for some reason, is not configured for optimal USB current.

Q: What shall I do if the projector does not work?

A: Usually the mal-function is caused by in-proper software installation or by a connection problem.  For details, please check with the trouble-shooting section.

Q: Does the projector have internal memory where data/files can be stored?

A: The projector does not contain flash memory, so it is unable store data or any files.

Q: There is no on / off button on the projector, how do I turn it on and off?

A: Turning it on and off is very simple. By default the projector turns on automatically when it is connected to an active USB port. Once connected it can be turned off and on from the USB Projector User Interface.

When connected, a USB Projector Icon appears in the Windows notification area (usually located in the lower right-hand corner of the PC screen, by the clock). By right-clicking on the USB Projector icon you may select mode which will become the default mode next time the projector is connected to the USB port.

Q: When the projector is in operation, the PC it is connected to seems slower.

A: The PC’s performance  depends on how powerful it is and the way it is configured.

Q: When the projector is in operation for a while it becomes warm. Is this a problem?

A: Some heat from the projector cabinet is normal as the LED inside generates heat when it is lit.

Q: What is the procedure to get the projector installed the first time?

A: First make sure the LT71 drivers are installed on the PC to be used. The installation procedure is described in the User Guide. Once installed , it is advisable to restart the PC. By connecting  the projector and PC together (with the provided dual USB cable) the installatio is completed.

Q: Very often the UI states "format not supported" although it's a supported format?

A: As the projector is at VGA (640 X 480 pixels), movie formats with a resolution higher than this may not be supported and the above statement will be shown.  You can use tools available in the market, or from the internet, to convert the file to the appropriate format as well as resolution.

Q: The projector is very slow when toggling between different files?

A: The projector is run by a highly sophisticated CPU for all decoding and projecting works.  When you experience the slow speed, it may be because a lot of “instructions” / “actions” were received during a short moment … in this case, please state for a while rather than keep adding instructions by pushing buttons, or simply reset by turn off the machine and restart.

Q: Sometimes when clicking on a file it seems like the device/button doesn't react?

A:  As the buttons are activated by certain voltage level, the over speedy action, such as quickly continuous button pressing, may cause the machine not reacting. Simply press the button gently and firmly again.

Q: What happens if I accidentally plug in a 3.5mm plug in the wrong socket?

A: You should pay careful attention and avoid the wrong plugging behaviour to happen.  On the other hand, we have certain protections on this.  The DC jack hole is protected and only the appropriate power plug can be inserted in, while the AV jack are mechanically not able to be plugged in (unless using over-force)  On the other hand, the DC power plug is able to be plugged into the other jack, namely, the AV-in and the headset jack.  However, it would not have any performance or charging when wrongly plug in, but of course, still need to be unplugging immediately for safety reason.

Q: How do I adjust audio level when watching a video film from a PS3/iPhone/iPOD/....

A: The audio level from multimedia sources connected to K1511´s AV IN port or to the USB Port may be controlled from the source (provided the media source supports audio out volume control). External speakers, headsets, amplifiers etc. that are connected to the Audio Out usually have volume control functions.
